WARNING
The springs on the HeavyGrips can cause serious injury if they break while using in an inappropriate manner. Heavy Sports Inc. and any of our distributors/affiliates will not be held responsible for any injuries that may occur while using the Heavy Grips hand grippers. By purchasing the grippers you agree that you will use them in a responsible manner and AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
The Heavy Grips hand-grippers are designed to be used as shown in the picture at right. Keep your hand away from the spring and the gripper away from your face and body while in use. The grippers are meant to be used with one hand only
Gripper Strengths
The Heavy Grip™ handgrippers from Heavy Sports Inc.™ are not affiliated with any other metal or heavy-duty hand gripper on the market. If you already own a set of another brand of heavy-duty grippers, please be advised that their 'resistance levels' will likely be different than the Heavy Grips™
Although our hand-gripper strengths are marketed in 50lb resistance increments, from 100lbs to 350lbs, the marketed 'LBS' is actually the amount of 'twisting-force' required to close the torsion spring handgrips and the actual strength is measured in 'Newton-Metres' and converted to 'Inch-Force-Pounds'. We shortened it to "LBS" for marketing purposes.
Therefore, a HG 150 actually takes approximately 150 inch-force-lbs of twisting-torque to fully close.
Please note that we are not selling calibrated scientific equipment and our quality control tests are meant to ensure that each gripper is within the tolerance-range when it leaves the factory. This does not mean that each HG model will be the
exact same strength as an identical model as "torsion spring winding" is not an exact science. We take great care to ensure that each HeavyGrip torsion spring is as uniform in strength as possible, but torsion springs will get weaker as they are used due to spring fatigue and like any other springs (cars, snowmobiles, industry, etc..) the springs may not fatigue at the same rate.
The picture at right shows how we test the strength of a gripper with a special tool similar to test the minimum 'twisting-force/torque' needed to close each model of the Heavy Grips™.
See our FAQ- Heavy Grips Strength page for more on Heavy Grips hand gripper strengths.
Packaging/Shipping
Although it is very rare, please note that a Heavy Grip hand grip may be removed from packaging or packaging altered in order to ship as a lighter weight. i.e. a "5pack" with all the packaging weighs 3lbs 1ounce so we get billed for 4lbs. With one package removed from the gripper, it is under 3lbs and we can ship the grippers to customers in 3 or 4 business days from time of order in most cases. USA orders: We are a Canadian Corporation and use a fulfillment company in the USA for the convenience of our USA customers to avoid duty, brokerage and expensive shipping. Shipping costs also include fulfillment from the contracted fulfillment company.
WARNING
Heavy Grip™ handgrippers are crafted to provide years of grip strength training, but a user must remember that spring failure and injuries are always a possibility. If you purchase a Heavy Grip™ hand gripper, you agree that you are using it at your own risk, and that you will use it in a safe and responsible manner.
